Adult HIV prevalence is compared across UNAIDS regions in 2024 using the percent of adults aged 15 to 49 living with HIV. The chart uses eight regional rows plus a global benchmark from the same UNAIDS estimates release. Eastern and southern Africa was highest at 5.5%, compared with a 0.7% global rate. The top regional prevalence was 7.9 times the global benchmark, a 4.8-percentage-point gap.
