What the Data Shows
Afghanistan’s annual real GDP growth is compared between 2024 and 2025. The World Bank reported 2.5% growth for 2024 and 4.8% for 2025. The rate increased by 2.3 percentage points. Population growth still exceeded GDP growth, so output per person declined despite faster national growth.

Data notes & caveats
The 2025 figure is not a final national-accounts observation and may be revised.
Methodology
The two annual real-GDP-growth values come from World Bank Afghanistan updates and use a common percent unit. The direct change is expressed in percentage points, while the relative change uses the 2024 rate as its base.
Source consistency notes
Every value uses the stated institutional source family, Afghanistan national scope, 2024–2025, and the labelled unit basis. Signed balances, non-final values, live quotes and mixed valuation bases remain explicit where applicable.
