Data notes & caveats
Official reserves include Special Drawing Right holdings. External debt is the Bank of Algeria’s medium- and long-term external-debt measure.
Methodology
The comparison uses the two end-2010 stocks and calculates the official-reserves-to-external-debt multiple. The published external-debt-to-GDP ratio is retained as a separate benchmark.
Source consistency notes
Reserve and debt values come from the same official annual-report presentation, use the same end-2010 date and current US$ billion unit.
