What the Data Shows
China’s national carbon allowance market recorded turnover of 14.63 billion yuan in 2025. Trading volume reached 235 million tonnes of allowances. Dividing turnover by volume gives an implied annual value of about 62.3 yuan per traded tonne. That ratio is a broad intensity measure and is not an official allowance price.

Data notes & caveats
The turnover-per-tonne ratio is not a time-weighted price, closing price or official allowance-price series. The annual figures are preliminary.
Methodology
Annual turnover and trading volume are presented as separate official measures. Their ratio is retained only as a clearly labelled analytical intensity.
Source consistency notes
Turnover and volume use the same national carbon market, 2025 period and official release.
