What the Data Shows
The number of Colombians in monetary poverty fell from 16,237,635 in 2024 to 14,446,726 in 2025. Both counts come from DANE’s national monetary-poverty releases. The annual decrease was 1,790,909 people, equal to 11.0% of the 2024 count. A change in the count reflects both the poverty rate and the size of the underlying population.

Data notes & caveats
The count is the number of people below each year's monetary-poverty line. It is not the same measure as the poverty incidence percentage, although the two are related.
Methodology
Compares DANE's exact national poverty counts for 2024 and 2025 and reports the absolute and relative change.
Source consistency notes
Both counts use DANE's national monetary-poverty framework and person unit.
