Construction Waste by Material and Treatment in Norway, 2024

Largest waste materials split across recycling, energy recovery and landfill across Norway; tonnes, 2024.

What the Data Shows

Norway’s largest construction, rehabilitation and demolition waste materials are compared by treatment route in 2024. The comparison reports recycling, energy recovery and landfill quantities for the nine largest materials by total waste. Bricks, concrete and other heavy building materials formed the largest material total at 694,601 tonnes. Mixed waste ranked second at 252,330 tonnes, while wood ranked third at 234,136 tonnes.

Data notes & caveats

Some material totals also include composting, biogas production or other treatment routes not included in the three treatment columns.

Methodology

Materials are ranked by their published total, then the nine largest are retained. The comparison presents three major treatment routes and does not treat them as a complete share composition.

Source consistency notes

All cells use the same material definitions, treatment categories, tonne unit and 2024 period.
