What the Data Shows
Egypt’s total fertility rate fell from 3.50 children per woman in 2014 to 2.41 in 2024. The series includes five CAPMAS observations measured on the same fertility basis. The decline was 1.09 children per woman, or about 31%. The 2024 value was the lowest point in the official series covered here.

Data notes & caveats
The 2024 observation is the endpoint of this CAPMAS series. A separately reported 2025 health-sector estimate is excluded to preserve one source family.
Methodology
Five CAPMAS fertility observations retain their published years. The measure is a period total fertility rate rather than the completed family size of a single birth cohort.
