Egypt Urban Inflation: September 2023 vs October 2025

Egypt urban headline CPI inflation; percent year-on-year, September 2023 and October 2025.

What the Data Shows

Egypt’s urban headline inflation fell from 38.0% in September 2023 to 12.5% in October 2025. Both observations use the same year-on-year urban CPI basis. The decline was 25.5 percentage points, or about two-thirds of the peak rate. The lower rate means prices were rising more slowly, not that the overall price level had fallen.

Data notes & caveats

The comparison does not mean prices fell; it means the year-on-year rate of price increase slowed. Later 2026 fuel-driven reacceleration is outside this two-point brief.

Methodology

Compares two readings from the same urban headline CPI series and year-on-year basis.

Source consistency notes

Both values share one CAPMAS series, geography, frequency and unit.
