Data notes & caveats
Passenger journeys are counted from ticketing data, and a trip involving a change of train can count as more than one journey. ORR marks annual passenger journey values from April 2020 onward as provisional because future split-ticketing adjustments are expected.
Methodology
Rows are ranked by annual passenger journeys in millions. Shares are computed against the Great Britain total in the same ORR annual frame.
Source consistency notes
Rows use the same ORR passenger-rail source family, period, unit and denominator frame.
