The rates are seasonally adjusted three-month moving-average estimates for the population aged 15 years and over. Calgary ranks first at 72.1%, 1.6 percentage points above Guelph. Vancouver is fifteenth at 67.2%, leaving a 4.9-point range across the leading 15.

The June 2026 figures are filtered to the 41 combined census metropolitan areas, with Ottawa–Gatineau component parts excluded, then ranked by participation rate. The leading 15 are retained.
All metropolitan areas use the same Statistics Canada release, June 2026 reference period, unit and survey basis.
