What the Data Shows
Two-person households were the largest size group in each of the three monthly income bands below S$3,000 in 2020. Their shares were 35.5% below S$1,000, 36.0% at S$1,000–1,999 and 32.2% at S$2,000–2,999. The one-person share fell from 33.4% in the lowest band to 23.2% in the S$2,000–2,999 band, while the four-or-more-person share rose from 14.3% to 22.4%. Each percentage uses the total households in the same income band, making the three distributions directly comparable.
