What the Data Shows
Intentional homicide victim counts are compared across five UNODC world regions for 2024. Rows are regional person counts, not population-adjusted rates, so larger regions can have higher totals. Africa had the largest count at 159,095 victims, followed by the Americas at 146,488. The combined Africa and Americas total was 305,582 victims, while Oceania was 1,387.

Source consistency notes
All regional counts use the same UNODC regional series, period and person-count unit.
