Greece’s leading asylum-applicant nationality groups are ranked by applications for international protection in 2025. The official comparison covers ten named groups and uses all 61,629 applications as the share denominator. Afghanistan ranks first with 15,296 applications, or 24.8% of the total, ahead of Egypt at 9,548. The first nine named groups account for 77.1% of applications, while the source’s separate Other category accounts for the remainder.
