What the Data Shows
Zinc mine production is ranked across nations for 2025. Production is measured in thousands of tonnes of zinc content, and the separate aggregate remainder is excluded from the ranking but retained in the world total. Rank 1 is China at 4.1 million tonnes of zinc content, followed by Peru at 1.5 million tonnes of zinc content. Rank 3 is Australia at 1.1 million tonnes of zinc content, and the top two account for 43.1% of the rounded USGS world total.

Data notes & caveats
Values are USGS 2025 estimates and may be rounded. The named producers may sum to less than 100% because the separate aggregate remainder is excluded from the ranking. Production is reported in thousand tonnes of zinc content.
Methodology
Producers are ranked using the 2025 world mine-production column in the relevant U.S. Geological Survey Mineral Commodity Summaries 2026 chapter. Individually named producers with positive output are retained, while the separate aggregate remainder and nonreported entries are excluded from the ranking. Shares use the source-reported world total for the same commodity, year and unit.
Source consistency notes
Every producer uses the same USGS commodity chapter, 2025 production column, measurement basis and unit; no second source family is used to complete the ranking.
