What the Data Shows
Life expectancy at birth is compared across World Bank countries/economies in 2024 using years at birth as the unit. The ranked data use eight rows from one World Bank indicator, with each row measuring life expectancy for its own population. Monaco led at 86.5 years, followed by San Marino at 85.8 years and Hong Kong SAR at 85.4 years. The World Bank country/economy universe includes small economies, territories and special administrative regions, so the page uses economies rather than sovereign nations.
