What the Data Shows
NATO defence expenditure in 2025 is ranked across the top ten member rows in the Annual Report estimates. The comparison uses current US$ values from a common NATO definition and one member-row ranking frame. The United States ranked first at US$980.0 billion, followed by Germany at US$120.7 billion and the United Kingdom at US$92.9 billion. The top ten reported rows accounted for 92.1% of NATO Total current-US$ defence expenditure, and the first row was 32.1 times the tenth row.

Rows are sorted by NATO Annex III Table 2 2025e defence expenditure in million US dollars, using current prices and exchange rates.
Source consistency notes
All ranked rows and the NATO Total denominator use the same NATO Annual Report annex, year status and current-US$ unit.
