What the Data Shows
Portugal’s resident population on 1 January is tracked annually from 2015 through 2024. The series uses the same national population definition and person unit for each reference date. Population fell to 10.333 million in 2019 before rising to 10.640 million in 2024. The 2024 level was 244,605 people higher than in 2015.
