What the Data Shows
Portugal’s real GDP growth is tracked annually from 2015 through 2024. The series measures the year-on-year change in chain-linked GDP volume, removing the effect of price changes. Growth peaked at 7.0% in 2022 after the 2020 contraction of 8.2%. The 2024 rate was 2.2%, 0.6 percentage points above the 2015 rate.
