What the Data Shows
Cobalt mine production is ranked by nation using 2025 USGS values in tonnes of cobalt content. The table uses six country rows because Australia and the Philippines have equal values at the final cutoff. DR Congo led with 230,000 tonnes of cobalt content, equal to 74.2% of the USGS world total. DR Congo and Indonesia together accounted for 88.4% of the world total, and the leader produced 62.16 times the sixth-ranked tied volume.
Data table
Unit: tonnes cobalt content · Period: 2025

| 2 | Indonesia | 44,000 t Co | 2025 |
| 3 | Russia | 7,700 t Co | 2025 |
| 4 | Madagascar | 3,900 t Co | 2025 |
| 5 | Australia | 3,700 t Co | 2025 |
| 6 | Philippines | 3,700 t Co | 2025 |

Data notes & caveats
USGS marks 2025 mineral values as non-final estimates. Six rows are rendered because Australia and the Philippines have equal source values at 3,700 tonnes.
Methodology
Rows are ranked by 2025 USGS cobalt mine production in tonnes of cobalt content. Shares and strips are computed against the USGS rounded world total for the same year.
Source consistency notes
Rows use one USGS source, one estimated annual period and one cobalt-content unit.
