Data notes & caveats
International arrivals and inbound tourism expenditure follow the country definitions in the UN Tourism archive. Macao, China is a reporting destination, so the public framing uses destinations rather than nations.
Methodology
For each destination, 2022 inbound tourism expenditure in current U.S. dollars was divided by the 2022 international-arrival count. Destinations with fewer than one million arrivals were excluded before ranking.
Source consistency notes
Every row uses the same UN Tourism release, the same calendar year and the same expenditure and arrival units.
