What the Data Shows
US overseas travel destinations are ranked by resident visits in 2024. The comparison uses five National Travel and Tourism Office destination-country rows, with shares measured against 53.8 million US resident visits to overseas countries excluding Canada and Mexico. The United Kingdom ranked first with 6.0 million visits, followed by Italy at 4.2 million and France at 4.1 million. The top five countries accounted for 39.2% of US overseas-country visits, and the United Kingdom had nearly twice Spain’s visits.
