What the Data Shows

China’s financial institutions held 336.1383 trillion yuan of total domestic- and foreign-currency deposits at the end of 2025. Renminbi deposits accounted for 328.6 trillion yuan, or 97.8 percent of the total balance. Household deposits were 167.0357 trillion yuan, while non-financial enterprise deposits were 84.4668 trillion yuan. These classifications overlap and are presented as benchmark balances rather than additive segments.

Data notes & caveats

RMB deposits overlap total deposits, household RMB deposits overlap household deposits, and household and enterprise classifications should not be added to currency classifications. The National Bureau of Statistics identifies the annual communiqué figures as preliminary.

Methodology

Presents the reported balance classifications at one end-date and computes selected ratios only against the published total balance.
