Data notes & caveats

Each value is an annual average, not a year-end exchange rate. The annual communiqué figures are preliminary and do not show intrayear volatility.

Methodology

Annual averages are taken directly from the corresponding official national communiqués and plotted in source units.

Source consistency notes

All observations use the same official communiqué family, annual-average concept and RMB-per-US-dollar unit.
