What the Data Shows
Cyprus recorded 6,533 civil marriages and 3,801 church marriages in 2024. The two categories reconcile exactly to the published total of 10,334 marriages. Civil ceremonies accounted for 63.2% of the total, compared with 36.8% for church ceremonies. There were about 1.72 civil marriages for every church marriage.
