Dataset/table: First vehicle registrations by make, fuel and body type

Units: first registrations and percent of make total

Date checked: 2026-07-15

Evidence: Supports 2025 first car registrations by make and fuel for the seven-make powertrain comparison.

Data notes & caveats

The five powertrain groups account for nearly all registrations. A small number of residual fuel classifications are outside these percentages.

Methodology

The seven makes are selected by total 2025 first car registrations. Fuel categories are combined into five powertrain groups, and each cell divides the group count by the make's total registrations.

Source consistency notes

All comparison values use one official vehicle file, one calendar year, the car body-type filter and the same make-level denominator rule.
