What the Data Shows
Nations are ranked by men’s FIFA World Cup titles across the 22 completed tournaments from 1930 through 2022. Each row adds finals reached and the year of the nation’s latest championship. Brazil lead with five titles, one more than Germany and Italy. Germany have reached the most finals, with eight appearances in the deciding match.

Data notes & caveats
The ongoing 2026 tournament is excluded until its champion is known. Germany includes West Germany under FIFA’s historical continuity.
Methodology
FIFA’s completed-tournament history is aggregated by recognised national-team continuity. Nations are ranked by titles, with finals reached used only to order equal title totals.
Source consistency notes
Titles, finals and latest championship years all use FIFA’s official historical framework and the same completed-tournament cutoff.
