NHS Trusts with the Highest Over-18-Week Waiting Share, March 2026

Providers with 20,000+ pathways by share waiting over 18 weeks; March 2026.

What the Data Shows

NHS England provider trusts with at least 20,000 incomplete pathways are ranked by the share waiting more than 18 weeks in March 2026. The percentage is the complement of the published share waiting within 18 weeks for each provider. Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust ranked highest at 49.4%. University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust ranked second at 44.9%, and the minimum-volume rule limits small-provider distortion.

Data notes & caveats

The volume threshold is a comparability rule rather than an NHS performance standard.

Methodology

Providers with fewer than 20,000 incomplete pathways were excluded before ranking, and the over-18-week share was obtained as 100 minus the published within-18-week percentage.

Source consistency notes

All rows use the same revised NHS England records, month, pathway denominator and threshold.
