What the Data Shows
The population of Cyprus’s government-controlled areas increased from 983.0 thousand at the end of 2024 to a provisional 996.6 thousand in 2025. The increase was 13.6 thousand people. That equals growth of about 1.38% relative to the 2024 estimate. The geographic scope and provisional status must remain explicit because the figures do not cover the whole island under one administrative population system.
