What the Data Shows
UK car makes are ranked by the non-plug-in hybrid share of first registrations in 2025. Each percentage divides petrol- and diesel-hybrid registrations by all first car registrations for the same make, while plug-in hybrids remain separate. Suzuki leads at 88.7%, ahead of Honda at 81.3%. Fiat places ninth at 53.9%, and the 5,000-registration threshold excludes very small makes.

Dataset/table: First vehicle registrations by make, fuel and body type

Evidence: Supports 2025 car first registrations by make and fuel for the non-plug-in hybrid share ranking.
Data notes & caveats
Plug-in hybrids are not counted in the hybrid numerator because the source records them separately. The threshold supports a more stable comparison across makes.
Methodology
The ranking aggregates 2025 quarterly car first registrations by make and fuel, filters to makes with at least 5,000 registrations, and divides non-plug-in hybrid registrations by each make's total.
Source consistency notes
Every row uses the same official vehicle file, calendar year, car filter and make-level denominator rule.
