Vietnam’s nominal GDP was US$476.3 billion in 2024, while real PPP GDP was PPP$1.45 trillion in constant 2021 international dollars. The PPP measure was 3.05 times the nominal measure. Nominal GDP values production at current market exchange rates, whereas PPP GDP adjusts for cross-country price levels and uses a constant-price basis. The two values use different currencies, price bases and valuation concepts. The multiple is a descriptive valuation ratio, not an exchange rate.
The 2024 nominal-GDP and real-PPP-GDP observations are retained from two World Bank World Development Indicators indicators. The PPP-to-nominal multiple is calculated by dividing the constant-2021-international-dollar value by the current-US-dollar value.
Both published values refer to Vietnam in 2024 and come from World Bank World Development Indicators, but their valuation bases remain explicitly separate.
