What the Data Shows
The world’s largest container ports are ranked by 2024 throughput, with Mundra included as India’s largest listed port. The rows use Lloyd’s List values in million twenty-foot equivalent units for the global top five and one India comparison row. Shanghai ranked first at 51.5 million TEU, ahead of Singapore at 41.1 million and Ningbo-Zhoushan at 39.3 million. Four of the top five ports were in China, while Mundra ranked 25th at 8.2 million TEU.
